Creative Brain Light Bulb For Freethinkers

The light bulb has became a symbol for ideas that are solving the problems. Anytime some cartoon character get the idea which will solve everything, a tinny light bulb appears over his head and tells us that he just got an idea.

Well Belarus designer Maria Solovyova has probably had her own light bulb over her head when she got idea to design this light bulb shaped like a brain.

I hope the animators of future cartoons will eventually use this brain-light bulb instead of classic one, when they are trying to tell us that some of cartoon heros has just got some awesome ideas in his head.

Diamonds are in fashion these days. When I think better I am assured that they were in fashion for last two millennium’s or even more

I am not sure why those tiny pieces of some kind of glass (ok I know that they are made of carbon) are so expensive. Maybe because they are so rare so everyone can’t have them.

For those who do not owe some super-expensive diamond, we have found this cool light bulb which are going to give diamond-like flare to your home. This design was done by Eric Therner.

It has lifetime of 2000 hours and it gives 15-watts of light. It can be put in standard sockets for electric light bulbs.

Diamonds are expensive so this diamond-like light bulb it is! If you want to have one you’ll have to cash out €29.00 for it!

Lamp Made of Recycled Aluminum Pull-Tabs by Mauricio Affonso

When I was little kid, we used to make the chains from discarded aluminum pull-tabs. Those chains were pretty fashionable to wear in my neighborhood. Mauricio Affonso which is attending at the Inhabitat’s Spring Greening contest shows us that other cool things can be made with pull-tabs.

This is his design called POP pendant lamp and Mauricio became the finalist with that design.

The lamp looks great and refreshing and it also gives unique light-effects. There is other 23 similar designs which are competing for the prizes this year. If you like Mauricio’s design you can vote for it here.

‘Light Tree’ Could Replace Classic Street Lamps

Here is another one conceptual design which is a proof that we are living in the time of technological wonders.

This so called Light Tree was designed by Omar Ivan Huerta Cardoso. Cardoso designed a plastic tree with some water in it which is used to conduce the light from Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) which are placed in tree, as well.

But that is not all, this plastic tree would certainly look pretty cool even without any additions but, there are some additions. This tree can “house” up to 3 real trees. There is a specially designed place for tree seeds in upper part of this plastic trunk and there is enough water there to grow a real tree.

So this is actually a combination of plastic tree and real natural tree. Plastic part is used also as a source of light so, maybe this could become practical one day and would replace street lamps.
