The ‘Pretty Invisible’ Reflective Train Designed By Kazuyo Sejima

Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima is hired to design a new express train for Seibu Group in Japan. Sejima will work on building “almost invisible” train. The train’s exterior will be covered with completely reflective surface. The mirrored exterior will reflect the surrounding of the train which shall make it pretty invisible.


Sejima will also work on interior design of the train which should give travelers more relaxing ambient.

The reflective train should be on the Japanese rails by 2018. The train will be a part of a limited express service which will be a part of Seibu company’s 100th anniversary.


Kazuyo Sejima is a Pritzker Prize laureate who works with Japanese company SANAA.
