Breathtaking Sculptures Made Out of A Single Paper Sheet

Peter Callesen is artist born in Denmark who works with white paper in different objects, paper cuts, installations and performances. Most of his works are made from A4 paper sheets. He makes various sculptures from white paper.

His precision transforms ordinary piece of paper into a masterpiece. His sculptures are sold for about $4.000.

“By taking away all the information and starting from scratch using the blank white A4 paper sheet for my creations, I feel I have found a material that we are all able to relate to, and at the same time the A4 paper sheet is neutral and open to fill with different meaning. The thin white paper gives the paper sculptures a frailty that underlines the tragic and romantic theme of my works.”, says Peter Callesen who creates paper sculptures by cutting them out of paper with scalpel.

I could people the castle in my mind. Your sculptures are beautiful. I am on the cusp of making small glass sculptures of native American Trout. I’m almost there.

is it one continuous sheet? If not, seems like anyone with some artistic ability can cut paper and make it into a 3D object – nice and interesting and seems cute but hardly worth $4k. I could see pay $35 for one but after a year, isn’t the thing just going to collapse?

I appreciate the work. It is God’s gift to you. Please help others to learn so that
every one can follow your foot steps. In the days of paper less community and office at least this will give dimensions for paper use.

This is one of a kind! This art style is totally one of the best art styles in the world! Considering that it won’t cost much for a masterpiece! LOL Keep it up!

You can tell this isn’t on HUGE piece of paper. They’re single sheets. That’s the point. It’s what makes them extra special.
    I love ‘em!

Oh, Architecture students of the world, go open an art website and sell your models for $4000, $8000…Oh sorry, this intriguous transformation from the two-dimensional sheet to the three-dimensional world gives the spectator a deep insight to the universal possibilities of earning big money by utilizing old toys. I would recommend IKEA to make a contract with Mr. Calesen, so that this decades old sleeping technique will wake up for our xboxing children. I don’t remember how many castles, cars, trees, figures and other stuff I tinkered in my youth about 35 years ago. Go google “papertoys” and you can easily make yourself a great paper artist.
